Thogchag or tokcha meaning "sky metal" are ancient bronze alloy amulets believed to be forged by gods and found at sites of lightning strikes. They are prized as very powerful protective talismans. Garuda or khyung thogchag are a common motif in these ancient amulets. This example shows great wear and patina from generations of use.
