	Naga beaded jewelry is some of the most splendid beadwork of Asia. Much of the jewelry, worn in large quantities by both sexes, conveyed rank and status often determined by men's success in war and headhunting. The numerous Naga tribes in the Himalayan foothills of eastern India have been heavily missionized and as a result their magnificent jewelry is now quite rare. Original pieces like this woman's belt are scarce and very collectible.
