Uzbekistan - Stone Rings 1
Uzbek RingsUzbek Rings - Side
Wide differences of opinion exist on precise origins for much Central Asian jewelry. Jewelers in a particular town or of a certain ethnicity would create jewelry for various neighboring tribes - hence much confusion reigns about ascribing certain tribal origins, such as Turkmen, Uzbek, Kazakh, Tajik, Hazara, etc. But a lot of material, such as these Uzbek rings, can be definitely sourced to distinct tribal origins. Fine chased and engraved work and particular motifs identify these as Uzbek.

All three rings are silver. The one on the left has an engraved lapis stone, the middle one is set with turquoise and the one one the right has an engraved carnelian stone.
