Indonesia - Balinese Topeng Theatre Masks
	Balinese dance theatre, like all other arts in Bali, is a highly refined and elaborate art form taking years to master. Exquisite masks are carved with elaborate ceremony and offerings from the first cut of the wood until the last stroke of paint is applied. Works like these made by master carver Ida Bagus Ambara are sought by dancers from all over Bali. These masks can take months to complete and are painted with up to 40 coats of natural pigment paints and embellished with jewels, silver, fur and gold leaf.
