- Balinese Gong Pulu
|
||
| The gong pulu is a pair of iron or bronze keys struck with a unique Y-shaped mallet. The keys are tuned to half-tone intervals so that they produce a haunting, throbbing deep gong tone remarkably like the large bossed gongs. These are used as substitutes for the large, expensive gongs in some Balinese gamelan ensembles. This instrument's box resonator is finely carved jackfruit wood in classic Balinese floral style. | ||
